Oliver Hackett's shop, which was built by Gerry & Tess Ryan who
ran it for many years. It was then taken over by their nephew John Condon who
sold it to the present owner. Built on the site of an old British legion hut erected
after the 1914-18 war. Over twenty men, mostly from the Cross, served in the Great
War and they and their families ran a club there for a few years after the war.
