I was born and bred in the heart of Liverpool and my interest in Art developed at an early age. I experimented with pencils, charcoal, pen and ink, and began painting in oils at the age of twelve. Although I studied Art and Ceramics at school, and gained an 'O' Level in both, I decided, at the time, not to take it any further.
I continued to work at my Art on a part-time basis and drew my inspiration from the superb architecture of the many beautiful old buildings in and around the port of Liverpool, especially the dockland area.

In 1990 I moved to Ardfinnan and found inspiration all around me.
